Lists of plants requiring a plant passport
Further down this page you will find two lists showing plants and plant products for which you need a plant passport if you mean to move them within the EU. In some cases the passport requirement comprises the entire plant and all products derived from it, and in other cases only certain parts of the plant are concerned.
First find the list that is relevant for you. The lists are overviews and provide no details, and they are in Swedish only. If you do not speak Swedish at all, we suggest that you look for the scientific name of the plant you are interested in. If you do not find it in the list, it means that you do not need a plant passport. If you do find the scientific name, please contact us for more information.

If you run a garden centre or a similar business, the rules are the same as for consumers except that you need a plant passport for the following plants as well:
Several plants occur more than once in the lists. This is so because the rules on that particular plant are laid down in different paragraphs in the regulations. The lists are sorted in alphabetical order based on the scientific name of the plants.

Professional growers
You want the list for professional growers
if you: - grow fruit or berries
- grow onions
- run a greenhouse business
- run a production nursery
- own woodland
- run a nursery for forest trees
- run a distribution central for wood propagating materials
- trade in seeds.
Final consumers, municipalities, and landscapers
You want the list for consumers, municipalities and landscapers
if you - are a private individual and wants to bring the plant material for your personal use
- work for the municipal authority and are buying the plant material for the authority's parks and gardens
- work with planting gardens and flowerbeds but do not breed or cultivate plants.
Garden centres
If you run a garden centre or a similar business, the rules are the same as for consumers except that you need a plant passport for the following plants as well:
- Castanea, chestnut – plants and parts of plants intended for planting, except fruits and seeds
- Brugmansia, angels' trumpets – plants and seeds intended for planting
- Solanum jasminoides, potato vine - plants and seeds intended for planting
