If you buy a puppy or a kitten abroad and want to bring it to Sweden, you most often need to apply for a licence from the Board of Agriculture. In order to get such a licence, the animal must come from a country that has had no case of rabies in at least two years, and that is classified as being rabies-free.The list of rabies-free countries changes whenever the situation in any country changes.

If you intend to travel via Denmark you need to apply for a licence. You must not drive across the European continent.
